Dr. Amandine Lassalle

Postdoc
2019 – present
Amandine Lassalle received a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Waterloo (Ontario, Canada) in September 2013, and was subsequently a postdoctoral researcher at Cambridge University (Cambridge, UK), Harvard Medical School (Cambridge, USA), and the University of Amsterdam (Amsterdam, the Netherlands) before joining the Institute of Psychology at Leiden University. Her research interests include visual and auditory perception of social stimuli, empathy, and autism.

Amandine is involved in Mariska Kret’s VIDI project, “Disconnected and distrusting: Emotional deficits in social anxiety disorder and autism spectrum disorder ” in which she investigates the linkage between mimicry, emotion recognition, and trust in patients with Social Anxiety Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Combining psychophysiological methods, fMRI and economic games, she hopes to gain insight into the role emotional expressions play in social decisions. She co-supervises PhD student Julia Folz.
