Visiting postdoc

2016-present

University of Lille

The main focus of my work is to develop an embodied approach to social cognition. The studies I am conducting integrate the fields of cognitive and social psychology and assume an embodied approach of cognition. In this context, I study the perception of interpersonal distance in relation to motor representations, the way language is grounded in motor actions and social interactions and the effect of social context on action parameters within interactive situations. I also have an interest in the concept of social intention, and I investigate the way we perceive, manage and move through space using several experimental paradigms including motion capture technology, eye-tracking and virtual reality.

The IBRO-research visit grant allows me to visit Leiden University multiple times this year and set up multiple collaborative projects with the CoPAN lab.
